The Needle's Eye: Organic Decaf

From the Permata Gayo cooperative in the highlands of northern Sumatra. Started in 2006 with 50 farmers, now over 2,000 members. Organic, Fairtrade, and Rainforest Alliance certified. They've built a school, a cupping lab, employed two Q graders, and run 24 community projects from their premiums. The coffee itself is semi washed Catimor and Typica, Swiss Water decaffeinated. Butterscotch, marjoram, and nutmeg. Warm, herbal, and a welcome change from the usual Latin American origins.
